I wasn't expecting this to be the first thing I'd ever shoot in Paris, but when I found myself walking home in this snowfall, the only thing I had with me was my phone. It was a perfect opportunity to test out the video power of my Samsung Galaxy S3. This was the first time I had seen snow in my new home, I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity.
This impromptu shoot helps to demonstrate an important lesson of independent filmmaking, especially with the tech many of us have at our disposal today... If you want to tell stories visually, nothing can stop you. Like with language and playing an instrument, develop your voice and you'll slowly find your own way to communicate and become more fluent. As far as not having professional equipment, don't let anything deter you. Limitations in filmmaking are like fuel for creativity. Go and shoot!
