It started snowing yesterday and it turned quite heavy fast so I grabbed my GH2 and threw on my Sigma 70-200 and started shooting. This let me have some fun taking "slices" of snow. Just set the aperture fairly wide open and change the focus point and you get a lovely plane of in focus snow through the falling bokeh.
Anyway, it was a bit of fun, and some of the shots turned out quite nice so I put the together in this little video. Even though the gh2 was hacked and using a fairly high bit rate, it still struggled with the falling snow, especially the wider shots where more of it is in focus. I guess you would need uncompressed to avoid that. I'm guessing by the time Vimeo gas compressed it, the compression artefacts will be even worse. Either way, it's still nice, so enjoy.
This was edited in Premiere Pro and there's only some very basic contrast correction going on. There's no grading as such.
