Phillip reads a story about a commander in the army of the Syrian king, during ancient times. This commander was a powerful man and had everything but unfortunately, he also had the disease of leprosy. During those times, leprosy was very strictly managed in order to control its spread. Lepers were forced to live outside the city walls and had to be very careful not to hurt themselves. Their ability to feel pain was lost and they could thus inflict a lot of damage upon themselves. Here, the noteworthy point is that God treated leprosy and sin in much the same way. Why? - because they both corrupt and destroy. They both begin as small sores and then begin to spread throughout the body. If you ever wanted to know why God warned us so much about sin, this is a great message.
