no... alot of the footage is shot 24pn cranked to 48fps. but there is also alot of 30pn footage in here as well

thanks evan! greatly appreciate it! i've been messing with motion for the past 2 years on and off. and only been using after effects for about 6 months. i've been really trying to learn as much as i can in after effects and it is way easier to work with than motion.

my advice would be watch some of these tutorials. start out with the basic training videos and then move on to the advanced training. and just start making little animations or whatever.

this guys that does these tutorials does big time productions for movies/commercials/ect... amazing stuff all for free. over 100 videos. this is how i learned everything i know in after effects.

dang! FOOLISHNESS better be good then. ha ha. it looks awesome though. i will definitely pick up a copy. can after effects do everything motion can or is one program better at some stuff while the other is better at other things?
also, do you ever use Color? my camera does not give me all the manual options like an HVX so i needed an alternative way to mess with lighting and coloring and i was wondering if that program was any good.

man. color is definatly apowerful tool. the only problem with color is if you don't have like a quad processor g5 tower. with like a ton of ram. you can't run it fast.

so i don't even mess with color. I've found I can accomplish what i need either right in Final Cut 3 way color correction. of just in after effects.

and after effects definatly has some things motion doesn't. like after effects has time rempapping (RAMPED SLOW MO). and there's probably afew things in each program that the other one is lacking. but i'd definatly say without a doubt after effects is: faster, more powerful, more flexible, more mauneverable, and just all around better. don't get me wrong motion is a awesome program. but i've just been loving after effects alot more than motion.

what is time remapping and ramped slow mo? can after effects do any 3D special effects or is just text stuff?
Do you know of anywhere where i can get the program for a pretty cheap price? i looked at adobe's website and it was running for a thousand bucks. I cant really afford to spend that much money on a computer program. haha!

time remapping (RAMPED SLOW MO) is a progressive slow motion. where it doesn't abbruptly go into a slow motion but it gradually gets slower. watch this video the majority of the tricks are time remapped: vimeo.com/4361525

yea and theres not really a way to get around the price for after effects. but if you are serious about video stuff and really wanna pursue than its well worth the money!

and yes after effects does 3D stuff not just text.

no it's all good! yea you do the graphics/annimations/timeremapping in after effects and export and then import into FCP

he's actually really well rounded. this was just filmed in about 6 days of cruising around. so we filmed what we could.
