"Eucharist" had it’s first directed reading at the June Havoc Theater, The Abingdon Theater Complex, NYC.

I produced the reading, Chris Goutman directed it and Liz Douglas, Chris Stack, PJ Sosko and Steven Ogg performed. Stage directions were read by Kenyon Phillips with dramaturgy by Robert Hawk.

With the 1991 Desert Storm War in the background, four siblings meet one Saturday afternoon in New Canaan, Connecticut to divide up their deceased parents’ possessions and let go of the family home in which they grew up.

I began "Eucharist" while a fellow at the Blue Mountain Center Artist Residency and completed it in August 2013.

This AUDIO-ONLY excerpted scene takes place in Act 2, between three of the four siblings: Walter, Eve and Alec. Gordon, the youngest brother, has run off. Alec, the eldest brother, is an addict.

The actors read through the script once before going live in front of an audience. We recorded their performances with one microphone. I hope that what the audio lacks in quality is more than outweighed by the talent and energy of the artists who read that night.
