Tracey, i want to apologize for not reciprocating the attention you've given to my videos. THIS one was so fun to watch. This is your specialty man....our families are the best thing in our world. Some people get caught up in fiction, hiring actors, and paying people to do EXACTLY the same things our own loved ones do, unknowingly. and our kids, wives, friends, uncles, grandparents do it WAY better. and the rendition of Crazy Train blew me away! never heard it before.

and since as you get to know me better, i tend to pause during the video to type a "first reaction" comment...i watched the video til the and after my previous comment. i know it was probably a timing thing, but the line "i know that things are going wrong for me" may not be the best way to end this video hahaha

Thanks again Chris...highly appreciated coming from you. You know that making cinematic home movies is great! It's true, they do it the best and it is so rewarding to watch. I don't know how I found that song, but I couldn't resist using it. I didn't realize it ended that way...I guess I need to pay more attention to lyrics :)

Chris, I want you to know was was moved by something in your post above so I used it on my blog in the my "about" section:

"Some people get caught up in fiction, hiring actors, and paying people to do EXACTLY the same things our own loved ones do, unknowingly. and our kids, wives, friends, uncles, grandparents do it WAY better."

    Thanks!

Nice video. Curious as to what kind of equipment you're using. 35mm adapter?
  • Tracey Lee 4 months ago
Thanks Neil! No I filmed this using the Canon 5DMKII (but I want your RED). I used the SD setting and uprezzed it...just testing the whole workflow.
  • Neil Larson plus 4 months ago
Wow, usually I can spot the 5DMKII immediately. I've got the 7D in my sights. RED has it's place, but these little DSLR's can take some stunning video.

Thanks Neil! I think since i shot at low res, then upresed to prores244 it ended up giving it a softer look.
