Meghan Remy has typically worked alone at songwriting and performing in her experimental pop project, U.S. Girls. But this time around on her fourth album, GEM, released late last year, she enlisted a bit of outside assistance to help her bring her ideas to fuller fruition. Bolstered by Toronto musician Slim Twig, who helped in the production and recording of the album this time around, her latest release shines a bit of daylight on her typically gritty basement sound.
