In 2007, Max was invited to attend the tree lighting that happens every year in downtown San Diego - sort of our small-town attempt to mimick the lighting of the NBC tree in Rockerfeller Plaza in NYC. Well, we told Max that he was going to actually light the tree (that's what we were told!), but as you will see, he didn't get to. I'll never know why. You can see the look on his face. Total disappointment. He got over it quickly though. But I should probably warn other families in the future... it's three hours of sitting around waiting for nothing! ;) We got out of there quickly after.
