I sing my song, "Such a Crown", during my senior recital, accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Brown.
In one of the meditative prayers collected in the book The Valley of Vision, an anonymous Puritan wrote:
“O Lord, I am astonished at the difference
between my receivings and my deservings,
between the state I am now in and my past gracelessness,
between the heaven I am bound for and the hell I merit.”
A few lines later, his astonishment overflows in the words that make up this song's chorus.
