This is our final project in my dynamic imaging class that has to do with 2D. We were told we could either start digital and go analog and back to digital OR we could start analog and go digital and back to analog. I did the first one. So I used a digital photo I took a while back and printed it out on regular paper in color, then I scanned it back into the computer to give it a "scanned file" look. Then the rest of the process was adding some construction paper to cover it up little by little and scanning it in to make this look kind of like a stop motion project. After the entire photo was covered I took it into photoshop and used the clone stamp tool to cover up any of the photo that showed through. Then I took it into After Effects (after cutting up layers in photoshop) and used the puppet tool for the wings.
I wanted to use the page turn effect to make it look like a flip book but I was struggling with it and wasn't able to make it work for me. I still want to go back and eventually try again. I was able to get the page turn down, but I wasn't able to get the timing like I wanted and I also couldn't get the next frame to show underneath the page turn.

Hmm…it looks like things are taking a while to load. Try again?
