This video shows how to perform a full pack down self-rescue.
AKS recommends using this technique ONLY in rare scenarios including, when you are far from the shore AND:
-The leading edge has had a puncture and is completelty deflated
-OR, the wind has turned off-shore
-OR , the Wind has completely stopped
In such rare scenarios usually the kiteboarder ends up getting rescued by another kiteboarder or by a boat.
Keep in mind that deflating the leading edge greatly reduces the visibility from a potential rescue party and therefore should only be done as a last resort.
-In most of these cases you would also decide to do a full pack down self-rescue because you are also far from the shore.
