Sanyo Xacti HD1000 Test: Stratford-upon-Avon Canal Basin
9 months ago
Test of Sanyo Xacti HD1000. Shot on full auto at 720p 60fps. Samples do not play great on Vimeos 24fps, so download raw file for better demonstration.
Image stabilization and auto focus not great, but easily corrected with manual focus and tripod. Very impressed with image quality, especially as it was an overcast day, looks really good on 32" LCD. Sound is also much better than expected. Biggest problem is lack of wide angle, but have bought after market lens which I will test shortly.

Steve 4 months agoBecause 30fps is noticeably choppy in comparison, 60fps produces much smoother results under all shooting situations - though this is probably just specific to the Sanyo. -
Bryan Sellars 4 months agoIt looks great, it's just a pity the HD1000 doesn't do PAL 50i, I don't think much of progressive at 25P or 30P on any camera I've looked at, all seem choppy,
