Great work Sam. Opinions on the Sigma 12-24 full frame? Obviously your results are great, but mine's soft at the corners on both a 10D (1.6x) and 1d MKI (1.3x). Lesson to be learned -- don't include any foliage around the edges of a frame or it turns into a garbled mess.

Thanks. I actually like the lens very much. I've heard stories that there are good can bad copies of it on the market. Maybe I was lucky.

I like it. How did you automate the exposures? Or was it done manually?

Great work. How do you decide what settings to use? Is it just a calculated guess?
  • Sam Javanrouh plus 3 months ago
Done this a bunch of times until I came to the settings I like best. Thankfully our city gets struck by lightning enough times to give me room to experiment!

It looks so unreal, nice job! The lightening hits the tower at 00:08, 00:12, 00:25, and 00:32, btw. Who says lightening doesn't strike in the same place twice? Lol.

Excellent vantage point of the storm! I put together a similar video, but just from my balcony and I wasn't thinking of creating a video from the stills - until after the fact. So, it's great to see someone had the foresight to shoot a proper time lapse of that amazing storm. Cool stuff.
