FilmFellas Cast 4: "The Artistic Wedding: One Take”

Reflecting on his own experience as a wedding videographer in the early 80s, Steve Weiss opens up the round table discussion by asking the cast of filmmakers, “What do we call this? Wedding Videography or Wedding Filmmaking?”

Next, John Goolsby, Joe Simon and Kristen* (Bliss* Video Productions) discuss the changing definition of wedding filmmaking within the larger landscape of the filmmaking community. Steve Weiss, beautifully sums it up by stating, “If it looks like a movie, I think we are allowed to call that filmmaking.”

Rounding out the webisode, the cast dives into the true reality of wedding filmmaking by discussing the one take mental pressures and unique demands of the wedding filmmaker to survive a 12-hour shoot with the added pressure of capturing that perfect day.

    Hey Lukasz,
Patrick Moraeu (the guy from stillmotion.ca) was on our filmfellas cast after this one, he's featured in episodes 20-24. Here's a link to the first one: vimeo.com/6178290

His work is amazing, and I still can't believe that he can do those same-day-edits, so crazy! :)

I agree. I've worked on a few weddings and I can vouch for the fact that's it's the most pressure of any job video related or otherwise that I've ever done in my life.

Kuunami ~ I can't imagine the pressure for you guys. You don't get a second take at "I do." Thanks for supporting the series. Cheers, ~Sue
