The 8th Annual Bloor Yorkville IceFest took place on February 23 & 24, 2013. Ice carving demonstrations and on-street skating performances by "Glisse on Ice" took place in the Village of Yorkville Park (Bellair & Cumberland).
The neighbourhood's fine restaurants served hot drinks, soups, crepes, mac n'cheese and more hearty goodness for all visitors (prices may vary). These restaurants included: Carens Wine and Cheese, Crêpes à GoGo, Jacques Bistro du Parc and Sassafraz.

The highlight was the 13th Annual Sassafraz Ice Carving Competition where great masterpieces began to emerge from beneath the picks, chisels and even chainsaws of talented carvers. The incredible "Wonderful and Whimsical Exhibit" included the magical ‘Enchanted Garden' centrepiece display of fairies, gnomes, oversized butterflies, snails and a mouse, set amongst giant flowers with animated faces! What an amazing scene, crafted from an astonishing 35,000 lbs. of ice. Proceeds were for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
