This was made from material downloaded from their web site. I think the clips had been converted somehow so that even though they were progressive, they contained interlaced artefacts.

I agree, it does look like it was shot on a domestic MiniDV camera, but one day there will be a filter to give videos a MiniDV feel for that retro look, and that's the day when this video will shine.
