International Kayak Enza is traditionally the first important wildwater competition of the year. Many foreign competitors join this race, held near Reggio Emilia (Italian Appennines, not far from Bologna) that is usually the first selection test to recruit members of the Italian National Team. Excellent paddling on a class III river, but the wheather is very often unfriendly, with very cold temperatures (near 0°C) and sometimes snow. So it's better to avoid capsizing! This is a poor quality video, made using a small digital camera combined with a cellphone.
