Sol Okarina was born in Guayana, Venezuela; where Orinoco and Caroní rivers magically converge in a landscape that left an indelible mark reflected in her particular musical style. With many influences from The Great Caribe, rhythms such as champeta, cumbia, Calypso, and Socca are blended in a contemporary sound with electronic layers and urban beats. Sol Okarina performs constantly in her Hometown of Bogota, and the rest of Colombia. During 2010, she performed in Montevideo and Punta del Este, Uruguay. She also made her US Debut performing in SXSW in Austin & New York’s LAMC, where her acoustic showcase earned Sol Okarina a mention by heavyweight music critic Jon Pareles at the New York Times. In 2011 she performed again in New York's CMJ. During 2012 she has been performing around her home town Colombia and she has released her new single Flores y Vestidos, supporting women empowering. Her Buzz just continues to grow...
