Reading Ian Wallace: An International Perspective

Renowned artists and critics, in conversation with Wallace himself, will contextualize the evolution of his artistic practice as it relates to the larger arena of contemporary art. All lectures will take place at the Vancouver Art Gallery, 750 Hornby Street, Vancouver.

This video, the second talk in this series, features critic and scholar Christine Poggi in conversation with Ian Wallace on January 29 at 7 p.m. Collage has been a recurring strategy in Ian Wallace’s work, and the recent proliferation of collage-based activity in the wider art sphere suggests its significance in contemporary production. In this talk, Poggi addresses collage in the wider context of art history and relate it to Wallace’s practice.
