Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has been trying to pass a law which bans sugary drinks from being sold in New York City. The law would ban soda and coffee beverages over 16 ounces. The law intended to go into effect March 12th, 2013. According to Huffingtonpost.com "State Supreme Court Justice Milton Tingling dismissed the law, explaining that the New York City's Board of Health lacked the jurisdiction to enforce it."
