9. NYC's Cool New Backyard Farms: Growing More Than J…
2 years ago
Urban NYC farmers have set their eyes on a new prize: transforming privately owned backyards into lush, fruitful farmlands.

By signing up to share your yard with a urban farmer, you can eat fresh from your own personal farm during the harvest months, and even sell produce to your neighbors - growing a community built around fresh local food. The best part is, you don't even have to lift a finger, BK Farmyards does all the farming for you...

This video reminds me of the wonderful experience we had this past summer in our backyard. This was the first summer in a long, long time that we planted vegetables. We had a wonderful variety similar but not exactly what was shown in the video. Next year we will try some new stuff. Already, I've planted a wide variety of garlic that will be wonderful next summer. Keep up the good work and get colleges and universities to put vegetable gardens on their property.

If you would like to see more bee hives in NYC, petition for one in your neighborhood at agrowculture.org

We support urban farms, beekeepers, food artisans and more!
