Dr Gill Martin Accredited British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry came to Dr Oliver Harman to have her cracked porcelain veneer removed with the "Waterlase" erbium laser. The procedure took about 15 minutes under a mild local anaesthetic and was painless both during and more importantly afterward due to the unique cooling action of the waterlase. This allowed Gillian to send the veneer back to the laboratory to have an identical copy made both in colour and shape. Normally the veneer would have to be split into pieces or ground away making this impossible. The laser light shines through the veneer and focuses on the "glue" layer which is softened until the veneer comes away. (Waterlase settings 20hz 4.5 watts 50% air & 60% water). Great result even on this very thick veneer.
