Acclaimed harpist Alice Giles received an Australian Antarctic Division Arts Fellowship in 2011 to travel on the ‘Aurora’ to the Mawson Base, accompanied by 2 harps and audio-visual recording equipment. At the 2013 Musica Viva Festival, Alice will perform "Alice In Antarctic", a concert inspired by her travels.
In this video, Alice talks about the challenges of playing the harp in Antarctica, the program she'll be performing at the Musica Viva Festival, and the joys of outdoor concerts.
