We have contacted all four recording companies regarding the possibility of permissions to use their songs for "The Dutchman’s Waltz", but as of 3/12/13 we have gotten no responses. The music is being used under the Fair Use argument because we are producing a non-commercial product for an educational purpose; furthermore, it will not impact the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted works. The director's inspiration and the original scenes were born out of these specific songs and we felt that it was crucial to the plot development that the compositions remain the same. Also, the project was to develop skills as a director and producer and these songs were instrumental to seeing how that vision turned out.

Neither the recording labels nor the artists have given their permission for their art to be associated with or endorsing our project whatsoever.
