This performance at Hull Truck Theatre was inspired by the Wilberforce Women Mothers 2009 photographic exhibition. The images, exploring the theme of ‘mother’ were created by almost 60 women from Hull in the UK, its twin city of Freetown in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and its sister cities of Reykjavik in Iceland and Szczecin in Poland. The following piece, funded by Hull City Arts and performed by members of the Hull Truck Youth Theatre, was staged on Saturday 15 July 2009, the final night of the exhibition in Hull.
