Some of the Visual Communication grads from Medicine Hat College this year got to see their invitations being printed at a local printer, Holmes Printing. We saw our designs turned from a digital file into four plates that transformed a blank page into the invitation. Ron Holmes explained that the plates are a very thin plate of titanium coated with silicone. The areas where you see the ink are exposing the titanium which attracts the ink where the silicone repels it.
After they are printed, Ron built a custom dye-cut for us and punched out a section of our page to create our final invitation. They are nearly in the mail!!!
