We were camping at Camp Jellystone in Waller Texas when a big thunderstorm put our Springbar Colossus to the test.
The girls were inside the tent sleeping and I was sitting under the awning. I watched as one by one the other tents collapsed sending their occupants to their cars for shelter. Most packed up and headed home.
The wind was blowing hard and started to pick up our screen room. I grabbed a guy line and tied it to the springbar's awning. I had heard that Springbar tents were stable in high winds but I was surprised to see just how stable it was.
The roads at Jellystone built up a foot or so making the camp sites into giant bowls. There was enough rain to flood them with an inch or two of water. I went inside for something and could feel the water squishing under the floor. Everything stayed dry, amazing.
When the storm eased I got out the video camera out and made this clip.
This was the kind of storm that could ruin a camping trip. We were very glad we invested in a Springbar. We had a great time and we're looking forward to our next adventure.
Thank You Springbar!
