The Great Convergence took place on December 20-28, 2012 to celebrate the end of the Mayan Calendar, the Winter Solstice and other sacred alignments. It consisted of a series of ceremonies at the Pyramids, Sphinx and various Egyptian sacred sites along with a music festival on the Giza Plateau overlooking the pyramids. It ended with a five day riverboat journey down the Nile River.
