I wanted to create an interactive based gallery show that conveys my interests in the culture of skateboarding and the innovative Nintendo Wii technology. Using the Mac’s developer tool, Quartz Composer, and the Open Sound Control program, Osculator, I am able to communicate and detect the Wii remote’s accelerometer to the computer via wirelessly using Bluetooth technology. I then created the interface by embedding the Wii remote within the skateboard deck, and so based on the movement of the Wii remote, it immediately detects the movement of the skateboard deck once a person steps on it. I further developed and programed three different concepts that uses this unique interface design that demonstrates video manipulation, illustration, and video control.
