Henk, our resident 3D guru here at TiNT Post, made this reel to demo the work we've done recently. Done in Autodesk Smoke, which is a very powerful editing and finishing tool for film and DI, it shows off the system's ability.
Plenty of compositing and paint correcting was done.
Excitingly it allows you to import 3D Objects into your timeline, add volume metric lights and textures, then export it as stereoscopic files.
Autodesk Maya is our rmain 3D sculpting, physics ( eg fluid and particle simulations) and kinetic (character animation) tool.
We can seamlessly integrate these two apps, as they share the Filmbox "FBX" (Motion Builder) file transfer system.
Other toos used to create this demo were:
Adobe After Effects
Productions screened in the demo:
"Smoking Splicer" showreel
"Pretville" the film.
