Took a Piper Cub for a spin.

The initial climb is impressive. A fully loaded plane with a 65hp engine at 30 Celsius outside is not the best config for high climb speeds. I can barely avoid the treetops after take off. It's quite scary, I can assure you.

The landing is fun too. There's a lot of traffic, you can see a plane taking off and there's a parallel landing on the left runway. The cameraman didn't notice it, but you can still catch a glimpse of the plane on the left.

We're cleared for the final runway 11R, but the frequency is overloaded so I can't report to the ATC and get cleared to land. You can see a plane holding short of the runway waiting for the takeoff clearance. When I'm only 30 seconds from touchdown the ATC girl actually instructs this plane to line up and take off! Then she notices me and immediately cancels that clearance. There's a little pause so I quickly report short final and she cleares me to land. Wow. You can do a lot of stuff in 30 seconds!
