The Alternate Root Magazine recently published an article called 20 Bands Pushing the Envelope. Bands that are at the forefront of moving the Americana Roots genre boldly into it's own future. We are fortunate to have three of those bands on Show 11. Leading the wave is Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck from Vermont. The heavy mix of electric banjo piped through guitar and bass rigs along with Thayer's gritty vocal delivery leave the music thick and heavily textured. Uncle Lucius from South Austin blend a mix of Indie rock and alt-country reminiscent of The Black Crows or Tragically Hip. The Wood Brothers, two virtuoso players, Oliver Wood on guitar and vocals along with brother Chris Wood on bass and Jano Nix on percussion take traditional blues and folk to dizzying new heights. Bow Thayer and director Bill Hurley host.
