Regis, these are awesome timelapses! You said that you use the Acuter Merlin Multi-Function Mount and Tripod for the movings. I think about buying this product. Can you do vertical slow movements with it as well or just horizontal? Also i'd love to know what you set the shutter speed to when you do traffic and cars. That looks perfectly smooth in your clips.

Thx Jakob. yes you can do vertical too. (00:26-00:30 in this clip is actually a several minutes shot moving upwards).
for cars and traffic, i use ND filters to control exposure with long shutter times to get the trailing effects on moving objects. other times i'd just record video and speed up in post. depends on the content really.

regis thanks a lot. i was so amazed by your shots that i missed the vertical movement :-) i'm new to timelapse and i hope you don't mind me asking. you need the nd filter so pictures are not to bright if you use long shutter speeds, right? In night shots you wouldn't need them, correct? greetings from vienna!

yes the ND cuts light to avoid blown highlights. you don't need it so much when it's dark.
