Inspired by the popular Kutiman youtube mashups you can watch here: thru-you.com

I was so blown away by these videos I was inspired to develop this application: 64 (Video) Fingers. I designed it with live performance in mind.

Modded from an existing app by Dovemouse called 64 Fingers, you trigger video and audio clips with the monome. Also with the ability to layer multiple patterns on top of one another and cut back and forth between.

You can download it here for free: monome.org

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the encouragement. I spent about three months working on it. A few nights of hair pulling for sure but suddenly it became playable and the rest was pretty easy to implement. Still has some bugs but I'm proud because it's an accomplishment outside of my normal thing. I have always been interested in anything music/film based mixed with technology.

Does it output all 64 channels/tracks?
  •
  • Charlie Visnic plus 2 years ago
Not really. Actually each slot can be assigned a group number. For example all the upright bass is in the same group. Each of the groups can be output to separate tracks in your DAW type software for separate effects processing. I had them going back to Ableton live.

Thanks man. Before collecting material for this I already knew I was going to do that. During the early testing phase I was actually using some downloaded monome videos as test footage. Monome simulacra! Thanks!
