In 1996, Amsterdam and Rotterdam were host to two international projects related to Dance and Technology. The first was "Connecting Bodies" hosted by the School for New Dance Development, Amsterdam School of the Arts in June 1996. The second was "Future Moves" organised by Dick Hollander at the Theater Lantaren/ Venster, Rotterdam. "Future Moves" included a two-day conference, a performance and film series as well as a 'cyberstudio' [a collaboration between Lantaren/ Venster and Motek, a commercial motion capture studio based in Amsterdam].
This video is a compilation of the experiments conducted at Motek during the workshop. It serves as a snapshot of the state of motion capture in 1996 with Polhemus electro-magnetic and Delft Motion Analysis optical capture systems in use.
The "Cyberstudio" participants included: Scott DeLahunta, Yvonne Fontijne, Robin Noorda, Susan Kozel, Thecla Schiphorst, Jochem van der Spek, Kirk Woolford, and others
