In March 2013, Elephant Slacklines Singapore organized Slackfest 2013 in Tonsai, Krabi. A rock climber's paradise now turned multi sport arena with base jumpers, slackliners and rock climbers packing the beach every high season of Krabi.
The team knew that there was already a very strong 1 inch slackline culture there and decided to go there and learn a thing or 2 from the locals and slackliners from all over the world. They took their jump lines placed them in the bars and every evening there were tons of slackliners and spectators watching them bounce their ass off.
But when it came to highlining and waterlining, the team had little experience and it was great fun to have the chance to do so. It was a great event with 1st day at the beach with a longline at about 45m long and some bar lining. The 2nd day the team took off to Pra Nang beach with a 20m waterline. As they were not sun burnt enough, the 3rd day ended with a highline on Cat Wall.
Thanks to all those who participated, friends who helped so much in a way or another. Maxi the local slackline Guru, Elke from Basecamp Tonsai for putting up the posters and Jeb for helping the team with accommodations and logistics in Mambo. Chillout bar and Sawadee bar for allowing us to put up our Elephant lines.
And special thanks to all the highliners who donated and put together money for the TI project.
We will be back next year with another Slackfest and hopefully there will be a bigger crowd!
