Harry Shearer gave the keynote talk at the 2009 Rising Tide Conference in New Orleans.

Rising Tide IV – the fourth annual blogger-convened conference on the matter of New Orleans after the failure of the Federal Levees – was an event of 22 August 2009. It took place at Zeitgeist Multidisciplinary Arts Center in Central City New Orleans.

In his address, Shearer reflects on the mediated, politicized aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina and Federal Flood event from his perspective as a New Orleans-identified blogger, thinker, entertainer, and professional human being.
