fantastic to see one of these old cameras rolling +
a kind of simple, but `down to earth` camera - operating.

I can't believe people used to watch this kind of film. I'm so used to 30p digital that the flicker gave me a headache!

Nice impressions... makes me think of getting my
S8 camera out and use it...although I'm at the moment
in complete HD madness with my DSLR...

admirable 8mm project but I thought vimeo was about the future not the past
  • Phil Vigeant plus 2 years ago
Modern Super 8 uses all of Kodak and Fuji's 35mm film that we cut down, including all the Vision 3 qnd Eterna stock. We rebuild the cameras with 16 x 9 gates for shooting the modern aspect ratio. We then scan the film in native 1080 HD to Pro Ress to edit with final cut Pro. Check out David Dibble or pro8mm.com

No doubt by modern standards some people would say the colours are wrong, the image is soft etc. but I just LOVE the feel of these super 8 films - Great work!!

Simply beautiful. I like how old film seems like if someone from the past time traveled to the future and took a record of it to show the people back in his or her time.

I love the feeling of this clip. The music and the images, it's a bit melancholic and makes me think of growing up that big city. very evocative
