Stolen Ride is a community led service that utilises the power of social networking and community spirit, with the sole aim of locating stolen bikes from London.
Cyclists who have had their bike stolen in London should tweet @StolenRide . The community will RT the bike and look out for it on the streets of London and on the internet. Every stolen ride gets pulled automatically into StolenRide.co.uk to further extend the exposure. Users can easily connect directly with the bike owner through Twitter. The owner can then inform the police of the bike sighting.
Founded by Richard Cantle and Robert Graves-Morris. The service was created in response to both experiencing the pain of having a bike stolen and never locating it again. Disappointed by never finding or hearing about their bikes again, they thought that there must be something they could do to help increase the chances of finding stolen bikes, other than relying solely on the police. Both see @StolenRide as being one of the first ports of call when bikes are stolen.
