Derek Lane, the iNET academic director, and Brian Raney, the University of Kentucky’s first entrepreneur in residence, talked about their new roles and the common theme of connecting students during a recent Colloquium on Entrepreneurship. Lane discussed the new Undergraduate Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking currently pending university approval. Raney approaches his role as EIR using his experience as a UK student. He says it is important to give students “permission to try and permission to fail.”
