The day before yesterday there was an interaction between two of our male rhinos. One, it seemed, was quite badly injured around the eye area so the KWS vet Dr Dominic Mijele was called in to take a look.

In the video you can see that rangers had to pull down the rhino as the tranquilliser did not take full affect. The wounds were then looked at, cleaned up, and then the rhino revived. Within seconds the rhino was fine and eating again (although looked a bit like a Jackson Pollock painting).
