Chess-Cubes was designed and executed within a fixed time frame of two days. The intent was to design a chess board which is compact and to be made by laser cutting. The forms of the chess pieces were derived by scooping out masses of the CUBES and express it through layers. The board is divided in four parts which interlocks and creates the full board. It has depressions as the same size as the base of the pieces which hold all the pieces in place and prevents accidental movements. The packaging box follows the layering language and creates an intricate patterned walls. The stop motion documentation was created to demonstrate the design and its packaging. This was the first prototype and now it is on the path of fine tuning details and its manufacturing.
