Archbishop Charles Chaput, Archbishop of Philadelphia, celebrates the annual Chrism Mass with the bishops, priests, deacons, religious and lay faithful. This mass commemorates the institution of the sacred priesthood and includes the blessing the oils of the sick and of the cathechumens and of the sacred chrism - all used in the celebration of the sacraments in the parishes of the Archdiocese.
In his homily, Archbishop Chaput repeats Pope Francis' appeal to the Church to not be worldly but to be "a humbler church, an evangelizating church."
