This captures a very tender (drunk) moment at the after-party of my cousin's wedding last weekend. All the cousins were sitting around rehashing and my step-brother, Ross, started telling stories about our grandfather who passed away over 10 years ago. Ross and his grandfather were extremely close and we all miss him dearly.
The video kind of jumps around but here's the roadmap...
Part I: Ross has many great stories of his grandfather but the one that will live in infamy was the time he and his sister, Elizabeth (standing behind Ross in the vid) stayed over at our grandparents' house and hid walkie talkies in their bedroom.
Part II: Grandma Fran has since moved out of the house where the walkie talkie operation took place. Ross recalls the stain of sunscreen that was found as his grandmother was moving out and selling the house.
Part III: The all-time greatest family joke, however, is that my grandfather's name is Solon and every time my grandmother, Frances, would call for him you'd hear "So!" ringing throughout the house. After several moments of silence we'd hear the inevitable, "WHAT?!" when he finally felt compelled to respond. They are both a major inspiration in our lives and their legacy and love story lives on forever.
This is completely unedited and I wouldn't have it any other way.
