Since 2004 the World Rookie Tour is the largest youth snowboard series and its mission is still the same: scout around the globe to find the next heroes of snowboarding and help them to get to the international scene. Today's pro like Peetu Piiroinen, Gjermund Braaten, Roope Tonteri, Sven Thorgren had been World Rookie Champion in the past and today they are recognized among the best snowboarder of the professional scene. Instead of cash prizes, the best riders of the rookie fests around the world, wins international photo & video shootings, snowboard trips, film shooting with Professional Video Production Companies or tickets to world class events: in the past our winners got wild cards to the Billabong Air&Style in Innsbruck, Austria, and The Arctic Challenge in Oslo, Norway!
But the rookie fest events are not just about competition! The World Rookie Tour Stops are also international meetings where you can meet new friends, shred the best snowparks, learn new tricks, get in touch with team manager and snowboard media, travel and improve english.
The 2013 World Rookie Tour calendar includes 13 international events all over the globe, from Europe to Asia and Oceania, from North to South America, and a bunch of national qualification series all around.
