The coastal landscape of West Wales provides the setting for this short film.
Animation, music and photography are juxtaposed in order to explore the liminal space
between land and sea.

The film has evolved from an original piece produced as part of an audio-visual
performance with the composer Tom Middleton at the National Film Theatre, London.

I love the differential between real and fantasy with the shells relating to the beaches etc...I wish I could imagine something and then interpret it to film as you have done! Excellent work!

    You can do it!

Lovely. How did you animate between the shells? Some form of tweening? The (stop-motion?) shells and their shadows were great, too. I would have liked to see even closer, even more macro as they turned.

Amazing, particularly the shell that appeared to have a face and how it morphed around. I am wondering if that distortion was done digitally or was by filming through the wave action.
The landscape reminded me of the northern california coastline near the Russian River and Sea Ranch, although I see it was from Wales.

That was beautifully trippy. My guess is you suspended the shells on a string and twirled them around in front of a green screen. Well, however this was done, it was great.

I love this and think it would be such an important piece to show the world how important our sea and coastlines are to the ecosystem. Especially now as the Gulf of Mexico has been deluged with oil. This performance piece gives sea life a voice and presence.
