The Israeli mandolinist Avi Avital is a wanderer between musical worlds. Trained in Jerusalem and Milan, he quickly became an outstanding soloist and has performed with such renowned orchestras as the Israel Philharmonic under conductors such as Mstislav Rostropovich. Avital also gives concerts in clubs, he has played traditional klezmer music with Giora Feidman and explored music from diverse cultures with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Project.
Avital has managed to open ears to his rare instrument like no other before him, and now he is doing the same for Bach with his spectacular adaptation of concerts to the mandolin.
