Preview: Dave & Rachel

Wow this wedding was a gift from God! Drew and myself had the pleasure of traveling over to Kansas City for an amazing wedding this last Friday.
Dave and Rachel are wonderfully in love and we had the joy of capturing that love.
We arrived Thursday afternoon in Kansas City and met Dave Feyaerabend who owns Aus10 Photography. Matt and his wife Meghan were so hospitable and fun to hang with throughout the weekend. Even when we encountered some pretty restrictive filming and photography rules at the church the ceremony would be held at, Matt fought hard for both of us to be allowed to get the angles and shots we needed. Overall it was a blessing to spend this time with them!
There was something about this whole wedding where I could sense the love of God in this couple. It was almost like a presence you could feel. For example when they first saw each other before the ceremony started Rachel came walking up behind Dave with this huge smile on her face and once Dave turned around he began to get teary eyed. It as amazing to see both of these two so excited to see each other as they both were trying so hard not to cry.
It was as if the emotion never died throughout the whole afternoon and evening.
When arrived to the moment to show the Preview Movie. I as a bit nervous as a crowd began to gather around the screen. I think I was nervous because I knew that this was going to be an emotional movie for everyone. The movie rolled and I watched Dave and Rachel as they watched it trying to read their emotions. They smiled, laughed, and cried. It went great! After the movie they gave me and drew big hugs and thanked us for what we made for them.
I can not express in words what a blessing it is for me to make these movies for couples. I thank God that he has allowed me the gifts in art and film to produce these movies for couples.
As Christians, Drew and myself feel that God gives all people gifts, skills, and passions for a very specific purpose. That God gives to us so that we can give to others. It is an overflow of serving because God has served us. I am not sure if this makes sense, but it seems that people all over the world desire to be givers and serve others as we are able. I would submit that this desire is from God. I believe we are made in God's image and that part of what that means is that we act and emulate our creator instinctively. That God has created all people with value and worth which leads us in our business to serve and bless all people as God has blessed us. But service to others is not our end. When we make something like this, we do not desire that the glory would end with us, but be directed to the one who has gifted us to make these movies to bless couples and in the end of the day glorify our creator. The give should always get the glory.
Thanks Dave and Rachel for having us and i hope that you all are blessed in watching this awesome wedding! Enjoy.
