The Turtle's story popped into my head and I just couldn't shake it. So I put it down on paper at 11pm at night and then spent the rest of the night shooting and editing it.
The big hurdle was learning how to isolate colors without exporting footage to Photoshop. The key is how you light your scene more than anything. The first scene where the turtle's held up is the last shot I filmed. It was shot after I started editing and had an understanding of what I needed to do to get the turtle to be isolated. It ended up being the quickest and easiest of all of the turtle shots to do, since I had the lighting right on it.
It was shot on my Canon HV30 in Cinemode, F2.2 (with a few scenes +1 to +3 EV) & in 30P. All effects were done in Premiere Pro 2.
