The retail space is in the midst of a period of dramatic upheaval unlike any that has ever come before. Where the life cycle of a product even as recently as a decade ago might have stretched over a relatively moderate period of time, today it can go from "zero to a million" almost overnight.
It is this exact issue (or, opportunity) that Mountain Equipment Co-op's CEO David Labistour tackled during his keynote at Dx3 2013. Afterward he stepped into the AOL Conversation Studio on the showfloor to explore just why the tremendous digital disruption affecting retail can, in itself, also be a tremendous opportunity.
